“Loyalty is a special and important part of our lives.  Loyalty, when it is conducted for the good of a person, promotes a security in a bondage of honor and integrity.

When loyalty is out of fear or because of harassment, or participation in a wrongdoing, this type of loyalty is more of a disguise than a true fact of being.

Our loyalty to God is based on our keeping His Ten Commandments.  Our loyalty to our Church is adhering, respecting what it stands for, what its purpose is, and the direction we gather from it to better our spiritual growth in God.

Loyalty to our spouse, fidelity, respect, caring, and sharing the purpose for which God created the state of marriage — so much desecration breaks down the loyalty in this state of life.  Permissiveness, promiscuity, brutality, infidelity, selfishness, dominance, self-love, destroys any attempt at true loyalty, because of the faithlessness to how it should be honored.

Family loyalty has many places wherein children sometimes misunderstand the beauty of loyalty, and regard it in a false sense of how they should stand up to it and in it.  Children should be taught that loyalty should be based on truth and it should not be false loyalty.  They should be told that if they are exposed to a wrongdoing, and they feel insecure as to what stand they should take, they should seek the advice of sound authority and not become victimized in the entanglement of false loyalty.

Loyalty in one’s vocation differs in many ways.  First, loyalty should be to the agreed amount of work commensurate with the agreed amount of money in return.  Cheating, regarding time in service, is against some of the Commandments of God, for it is a manner of stealing and, of course, could possibly be a means of coveting what belongs to another.

Loyalty to one’s friends and neighbors must be based on respect and, of course, good example.  Good example, in its true sense of the word, gives the relationship an honest and truthful foundation which exudes the spirit of loyalty in friendship, by caring what effect you have on the other person’s life.”
