“The world is so full of reborn Christians, putting the emphasis on now that they have found God, they can stand before you and teach you what you must be doing, and direct you so you can become a reborn Christian.
What makes so many people feel that personal failure, when it is recognized, suddenly makes Evangelism necessary? Many of these people should hide their past and just do charitable acts quietly behind the scenes. This is where the real merit to their sudden change in ways would count most. Example is the greatest teacher.
Most times, those who must expound on their sudden surge of change, enjoy hearing themselves talk, and they talk to reassure themselves of where they are and what path they’re on to finding a more peaceful life for themselves.
Reparation for one’s wrongdoings is not the criteria for authority. People must stop making heroes out of people who failed morally and who now feel they can justify everything by instructing others in the morbid, and now successful, trials and errors of their own life.
Sound leadership comes from sound values, sound standards, and courage where morals are concerned, and of course, it is the strength that is built up from these things that creates a better leader.
Men who have been rogues in their time, perhaps became known because of their colorful actions and trail of rebellion and daredevil antics. This does not label them good leaders or idols to be flaunted, or example to be imitated or followed.
Evangelism in our time is, in many ways, wholesale slaughter to God’s Word. It is built on emotionalism, cynicism, ego, and self-importance in being able to interpret the full meaning of the words in the Bible.”
